This event tracks whether a significant earthquake will occur on a specific date. It measures the intensity of the strongest seismic activity recorded during that day using standardized scientific data. The outcome depends on whether any earthquake reaches certain magnitude thresholds.
All markets resolve based on the highest earthquake magnitude reported by the United States Geological Survey (USGS) worldwide during September 23, 2026, from midnight to midnight UTC. Resolution requires the magnitude to meet or exceed the specific threshold designated for each market (ranging from 5.2 to 7.0). The USGS's moment magnitude scale (Mw) is the preferred measurement type; if unavailable, the primary magnitude type reported by USGS will be used. When multiple earthquakes tie for the highest magnitude, all tied events count toward satisfaction of the condition. If USGS ComCat data remains unavailable at the expiration time, settlement may be delayed according to contract contingencies. Each market operates independently, with resolution contingent solely on whether the single-day maximum magnitude meets its respective threshold.
