Prediction market odds often diverge from traditional weather analyst forecasts because they incorporate real-time trader behavior and financial incentives. While meteorologists rely on atmospheric models and historical data, this market aggregates the views of participants who have money at stake on the outcome. Analyst forecasts tend to be more conservative and model-driven, whereas market prices can shift rapidly in response to breaking weather developments or trader conviction. Comparing the two reveals whether the crowd is more bullish or bearish than official forecasts, offering a complementary perspective on temperature expectations for the date in question.
This market resolves around Jun 29, 2026, once the lowest temperature recorded in Shanghai for June 29 is verified against credible public sources.
