Resolution is determined by the minimum temperature recorded at Central Park, New York on June 11, 2026, as reported in the National Weather Service's Climatological Report (Daily). The market divides the temperature range into five distinct bands: 65°F or below, 66-67°F, 68-69°F, 70-71°F, 72-73°F, and 74°F or above. Each temperature range corresponds to a specific market outcome. Official data must be obtained from the NWS Climatological Report accessed via the specified URL, selecting Central Park NY with Daily Climate Report. While preliminary data from other sources like AccuWeather or Google Weather may provide guidance, only the official NWS Climatological Report (Daily) determines final resolution. Traders should be aware that preliminary NWS reporting and measurement methods may involve rounding and conversion nuances that could affect interpretation of borderline values.
Prediction market odds reflect real-money bets from traders and reflect collective expectations, while analyst forecasts come from meteorological models and expert judgment. Markets often incorporate broader information faster than traditional forecasts update. For the June 12 NYC low, comparing market-implied probabilities to National Weather Service or private weather service predictions can reveal where consensus diverges. Markets may price in tail risks or recent data shifts that models lag on, making side-by-side comparison valuable for understanding confidence levels across both approaches.
Major weather pattern shifts, updated seasonal forecasts, and real-time atmospheric data will drive market repricing. A developing high-pressure system could push temperatures higher, while an unexpected cold front or tropical system could lower them. Long-range model consensus updates in the days before June 12 typically trigger significant volume and price movement. Additionally, any unusual jet stream behavior or sudden shifts in the North Atlantic Oscillation could alter expectations. Traders should monitor extended forecasts and model guidance closely as the event date approaches.
