This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the lowest temperature recorded at the London City Airport Station in degrees Celsius on 6 Jun '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from Wunderground, specifically the lowest temperature recorded for all times on this day for the London City Airport Station, available here: https://www.wunderground.com/history/daily/gb/london/EGLC. To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the gear icon next to the search bar and switch the Temperature setting between °F and °C. This market can not resolve until the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Celsius (eg, 9°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.
Prediction market odds reflect real-money trader conviction and often incorporate meteorological models, historical June weather patterns, and climate data faster than traditional analyst consensus. While weather analysts typically issue forecasts days or weeks ahead, prediction markets continuously update as new atmospheric data emerges. Comparing market-implied probabilities to Met Office or other institutional forecasts can reveal whether traders are pricing in more optimistic or pessimistic temperature scenarios than official predictions suggest.
On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. On Polymarket, this event is priced through outcome shares representing discrete temperature ranges or thresholds for London's low on June 6. Traders buy and sell shares corresponding to their belief about which range will occur, with share prices reflecting the market's implied probability. As traders accumulate positions and new information arrives, prices adjust in real time, allowing participants to enter or exit positions at any point before the Jun 6, 2026 resolution deadline.
The market resolves on Jun 6, 2026, after the lowest temperature in London on June 6, 2026 has been recorded and verified. Resolution is determined by official meteorological data from a designated weather authority or data provider specified in the market terms. Once the actual low temperature is confirmed, the outcome shares corresponding to the correct temperature range or threshold are paid out in full, and all other shares expire worthless.
Major weather pattern shifts, including changes to jet stream positioning, Atlantic storm systems, or high-pressure systems over the UK, can significantly move odds. Updated seasonal forecasts from meteorological agencies, shifts in solar activity, or anomalous sea-surface temperatures in nearby regions may also influence trader expectations. As June 6 approaches, short-range weather models become more reliable, typically causing sharper price movements. Real-time atmospheric data releases and any unusual climate events in the weeks leading up to the date will drive continuous market repricing.
