This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the lowest temperature recorded at the London City Airport Station in degrees Celsius on 19 Jun '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from Wunderground, specifically the lowest temperature recorded for all times on this day for the London City Airport Station, available here: https://www.wunderground.com/history/daily/gb/london/EGLC. To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the gear icon next to the search bar and switch the Temperature setting between °F and °C. This market can not resolve until the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Celsius (eg, 9°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.

Prediction market odds often diverge from traditional weather forecasts because they incorporate real-time trader sentiment, historical accuracy adjustments, and economic incentives absent from standard meteorological models. While professional weather services rely on physics-based simulations and satellite data, this market aggregates dispersed information and risk appetite across many participants. Comparing the implied probability here to consensus forecasts from the UK Met Office or other analysts can reveal whether traders are pricing in tail risks, seasonal anomalies, or recent climate patterns that formal models may weight differently. Such gaps often signal where market participants see value or disagreement with conventional wisdom.
On Polymarket, traders set prices by buying and selling outcome shares in an automated market maker (AMM) system, where the cost of each share reflects its implied probability. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders bet on colder or warmer outcomes, the price of those shares adjusts in real time, creating a dynamic equilibrium. The spread between bid and ask prices tightens or widens based on trading volume and conviction. This mechanism ensures that prices remain responsive to new weather data, model updates, and shifting trader expectations right up until the market closes.
This market resolves around Jun 19, 2026, once June 19 has passed and the lowest temperature recorded in London that day is verified against credible public sources. The outcome is determined by comparing actual weather station readings to the temperature thresholds embedded in each outcome option. Resolution occurs after sufficient time has elapsed for official meteorological data to be published and confirmed. Traders who correctly predicted the temperature range receive their winnings based on the final verified reading.
Major weather pattern shifts, updated seasonal forecasts, and anomalous atmospheric conditions can significantly move this market. Tropical systems, sudden cold fronts, or heat waves tracked by meteorologists will trigger repricing as traders adjust their positions. Real-time weather model runs published by the UK Met Office or European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) often spark trading surges when they show material changes to temperature expectations. Historical precedent for extreme temperatures on this date, recent climate trends, and even solar activity anomalies can influence long-term positioning. As Jun 19, 2026 approaches, intraday weather updates and final model consensus will drive the most volatile price movements.
