Prediction market odds on Polymarket often diverge from traditional meteorological forecasts and seasonal analyst models. While weather services issue deterministic point forecasts or confidence intervals, prediction markets aggregate trader beliefs into probabilistic odds that can shift rapidly as new data emerges. Comparing the market's implied temperature distribution to UK Met Office or other official forecasts reveals whether traders are pricing in more upside or downside risk. This gap can signal either market inefficiency or genuine uncertainty that traditional models underweight.

On Polymarket, the lowest temperature in London on June 12 is priced as a set of outcome shares, each representing a specific temperature range or threshold. Traders buy and sell these shares at prices between 0 and 1 cent, with the price reflecting the market's probability estimate for that outcome. As new weather data, seasonal patterns, or climate signals emerge, traders adjust positions, moving prices up or down. The sum of all outcome prices equals 1 cent, ensuring the market is properly calibrated.

The market resolves on Jun 12, 2026, after the close of June 12 in London. Resolution is determined by the official recorded lowest temperature for that date from the designated reference source. Once the temperature reading is confirmed and published, the outcome shares corresponding to the correct temperature range or threshold are paid out at full value, while all other shares expire worthless. Traders should monitor the reference data source as the resolution date approaches to ensure accuracy.

Major weather pattern shifts, updated seasonal forecasts, and atmospheric anomalies can significantly move odds for London's June 12 low temperature. Traders watch for jet-stream changes, high-pressure systems, cold fronts, and any unusual climate events weeks or days before the date. Longer-term signals include El Niño or La Niña phases, North Atlantic Oscillation trends, and historical temperature records. As June 12 approaches, daily weather model updates and real-time atmospheric data become the primary drivers of price movement, with traders repricing based on the latest meteorological consensus.
