This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the lowest temperature recorded by the Hong Kong Observatory in degrees Celsius on 2 Jun '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from the Hong Kong Observatory, specifically the "Absolute Daily Min (deg. C)" the specified date once information is finalized in the relevant "Daily Extract", available here: https://www.weather.gov.hk/en/cis/climat.htm This market can not resolve until data for this date has been published. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures in Celsius to one decimal place (eg, 9.1°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Any revisions to temperatures recorded after data is initially published for this market's timeframe will not be considered for this market's resolution.
The market resolves on Jun 2, 2026, after the lowest temperature in Hong Kong on June 2 has been recorded and verified. The outcome is determined by official temperature data from the Hong Kong Observatory, the primary meteorological authority for the region. Once the actual lowest temperature is published, the market settles based on whether it matches the specified threshold. Traders should monitor official announcements from the Hong Kong Observatory to understand how the resolution will be determined and ensure they have accurate information before the market closes.
Several factors could shift odds for this temperature outcome. Updated weather forecasts from the Hong Kong Observatory or international meteorological models will be key drivers as June 2 approaches. Seasonal weather patterns, tropical cyclone activity, and atmospheric pressure systems affecting East Asia could all influence the lowest temperature. Historical climate data for early June in Hong Kong provides a baseline, but anomalies or unusual weather systems could push temperatures higher or lower than typical. Real-time weather updates, model consensus changes, and any significant meteorological events in the weeks leading up to June 2 will likely trigger trading activity and price adjustments on the market.
