The resolution source for this market will be information from the Hong Kong Observatory, specifically the "Absolute Daily Min (deg. C)" the specified date once information is finalized in the relevant "Daily Extract", available here: https://www.weather.gov.hk/en/cis/climat.htm This market can not resolve until data for this date has been published. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures in Celsius to one decimal place (eg, 9.1°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Any revisions to temperatures recorded after data is initially published for this market's timeframe will not be considered for this market's resolution.
Prediction market odds on Polymarket reflect aggregated trader beliefs about Hong Kong's lowest temperature on June 10, often incorporating meteorological forecasts, historical climate patterns, and real-time weather model updates. Analyst forecasts from weather services and climate institutions typically focus on point estimates or narrow ranges, while prediction markets price a full distribution of outcomes. Market odds tend to converge toward official forecasts as the event date approaches, but may diverge during periods of forecast uncertainty or when traders identify pricing inefficiencies relative to published meteorological guidance.
On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. On Polymarket, the lowest temperature in Hong Kong on June 10 is priced through outcome shares that reflect the probability traders assign to specific temperature ranges or thresholds. Each outcome contract trades independently, with prices determined by supply and demand. Traders buy shares in outcomes they believe are underpriced and sell those they view as overpriced. The current market odds reflect the consensus price across all active traders, updated continuously as new weather data, seasonal patterns, and forecasts influence expectations for Hong Kong's climate conditions on that date.
The market resolves on Jun 10, 2026, after the lowest temperature recorded in Hong Kong on June 10 is officially documented. Resolution is determined by the actual minimum temperature measurement from the designated official weather station or meteorological authority serving Hong Kong. Once the temperature data is confirmed and published, the outcome corresponding to the recorded low is marked as correct, and all positions settle accordingly. Traders should monitor official weather reports and data releases to understand how the final outcome will be determined.
Key signals that could shift market odds include updated seasonal weather forecasts, tropical storm or typhoon activity in the Western Pacific, shifts in monsoon patterns, and real-time atmospheric pressure and humidity data. Historical climate anomalies, El Niño or La Niña conditions, and changes to upper-atmosphere wind patterns can all influence June temperatures in Hong Kong. As the event date approaches, short-range meteorological models become more reliable, often triggering sharp repricing. Major weather events or forecast revisions in the days immediately before June 10 typically drive the largest market movements.
