This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the highest temperature recorded at the Wuhan Tianhe International Airport Station in degrees Celsius on 6 Jul '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from Wunderground, specifically the highest temperature recorded for all times on this day for the Wuhan Tianhe International Airport Station, available here: https://www.wunderground.com/history/daily/cn/wuhan/ZHHH. To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the gear icon next to the search bar and switch the Temperature setting between °F and °C. This market can not resolve until the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Celsius (eg, 9°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.

Prediction market odds often diverge from traditional weather forecasts because they incorporate real-time trader behavior and incentives absent from meteorological models. While meteorologists rely on physics-based atmospheric data, this market reflects traders' aggregated beliefs about the actual outcome—including their confidence in forecast accuracy itself. Comparing the odds here to published analyst predictions for Wuhan's July 6 high temperature can reveal whether the crowd expects conditions warmer or cooler than official guidance suggests. Such gaps sometimes signal either market inefficiency or legitimate reasons traders doubt the consensus forecast.
On Polymarket, traders set prices by buying and selling outcome shares in an automated market maker system. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Each share represents a claim on one outcome—for example, whether the high will be 25°C—and the price of that share reflects the collective probability traders assign to it. As new bets flow in, prices adjust automatically to balance supply and demand. Higher prices indicate stronger trader conviction; lower prices suggest skepticism. This continuous repricing ensures the market remains responsive to breaking weather developments and updated forecasts.
This market resolves around Jul 6, 2026, once July 6 has passed and the highest temperature recorded in Wuhan that day is confirmed. The outcome is verified against credible public sources reporting the actual peak temperature. Traders holding shares in the correct outcome receive their payout, while incorrect positions expire worthless. The resolution process is deterministic—there is no ambiguity about what the temperature was—making this a straightforward event-based market with a clear, observable endpoint.
Updated weather forecasts from meteorological agencies are the primary driver of price movement in this market. Seasonal weather patterns, atmospheric pressure systems, and any unusual climate events affecting East Asia can shift trader expectations. Real-time satellite imagery and local weather station data released closer to July 6 will refine predictions and trigger repricing. Additionally, historical temperature records for Wuhan on that date in prior years may influence positioning. As the event date approaches, any credible new information about regional weather conditions will likely prompt traders to adjust their positions.
