This event tracks the highest temperature recorded in Washington DC on a specific date in the future. Outcomes depend on exact temperature ranges, offering different possibilities for how hot the day might get. The resolution hinges on official weather data from a designated source.
The event resolves based on the maximum temperature recorded in Washington DC (CLIDCA) on October 9, 2026, as reported by The Weather Company. Six distinct temperature ranges are defined, each corresponding to a separate market that resolves to Yes if the recorded temperature falls within that range. For temperatures below 72°F, the first market resolves to Yes. Subsequent markets cover incremental ranges from 72-73°F up through 78-79°F. The final market resolves to Yes if the temperature exceeds 79°F. All markets share common secondary rules emphasizing that The Weather Company’s data is the sole authority for resolution, despite potential discrepancies with other weather services. Preliminary data may be subject to rounding or conversion differences, and the Exchange reserves the right to delay expiration if a material error is identified in the initial publication. If data remains unavailable by the expiration date, markets will resolve to the last fair price determined by Kalshi. The “Final” status on The Weather Company’s platform is informational only and does not guarantee error-free data.
