Prediction market odds on Polymarket reflect collective trader expectations, which often diverge from traditional meteorological forecasts. While weather analysts rely on atmospheric models and historical data, market prices incorporate real-time information and trader conviction. Comparing Polymarket odds to official forecasts from Poland's meteorological institute or international weather services can reveal whether traders expect warmer or cooler conditions than model consensus, highlighting areas of disagreement or emerging confidence shifts.
The market resolves on Jun 6, 2026, after the highest temperature in Warsaw on June 6 has been recorded and verified. The outcome is determined by official meteorological data from a designated weather station or authority in Warsaw. Once the final temperature reading is confirmed, the contract corresponding to the correct temperature range or exact value settles, and traders' positions are paid out according to the rules specified in the market terms.
Major weather pattern shifts, seasonal forecasts, and atmospheric pressure systems over Europe can significantly move odds. Updates from meteorological institutes predicting heat waves or cooler fronts will influence trader positioning. Real-time weather data closer to June 6, including satellite imagery and model consensus changes, typically drive the largest price swings. Additionally, historical temperature records for Warsaw on that date and broader climate anomalies may prompt traders to reassess probabilities as the event date approaches.
