Prediction market odds often diverge from traditional meteorological forecasts because they incorporate real-time trader behavior, media attention, and broader uncertainty beyond raw weather models. While meteorologists issue deterministic temperature ranges based on atmospheric data, this market prices in the full distribution of possible outcomes and the risk that forecasts may shift. Comparing the odds here to published forecasts from national weather services can reveal whether traders are pricing in more or less tail risk than experts expect. Over time, markets tend to converge toward accuracy as new information arrives, though short-term divergences reflect genuine disagreement about forecast confidence.
This market resolves around Jul 6, 2026, once the highest temperature recorded in Warsaw on July 6 is verified and finalized. The outcome is confirmed against credible public sources reporting the official weather data for that day. Traders holding shares in the correct outcome receive their payout, while incorrect positions expire worthless. Resolution typically occurs within hours or a day after the event concludes, once meteorological authorities publish their final readings. Until that point, the market remains open for trading as new forecasts and real-time weather developments shift trader expectations.
Major weather pattern shifts, updated seasonal forecasts, and real-time atmospheric data releases will all influence trading activity in this market. A sudden cold front or heat wave prediction could swing odds sharply, as traders reassess the likelihood of extreme temperatures. Media coverage of unusual weather or climate anomalies may also trigger repositioning. As July 6 approaches, intraday forecasts become more precise, typically narrowing the range of expected outcomes and reducing uncertainty. Finally, any significant weather events in the days immediately before the target date—such as a passing storm system or unexpected pressure changes—could prompt last-minute trading surges as participants fine-tune their positions.
