This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the highest temperature recorded by NOAA at the Ben Gurion International Airport in degrees Celsius on 18 Jun '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from NOAA, specifically the highest reading under the "Temp" column for all times on this day, available here: https://www.weather.gov/wrh/timeseries?site=LLBG To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the "Switch to Metric Units" button until the relevant table displays °C. This market can not resolve until the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Celsius (eg, 9°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.

Prediction market odds often diverge from traditional meteorologist forecasts because they incorporate real-time trader sentiment, historical volatility, and forward-looking uncertainty. While weather analysts rely on deterministic climate models and historical data, this market aggregates the financial incentives of thousands of participants betting on the actual outcome. Traders who misjudge the temperature face direct financial loss, creating a powerful mechanism for price discovery. Over time, prediction markets have proven competitive with or superior to expert forecasts on weather events, particularly when the crowd has access to the same underlying data as analysts.
On Polymarket, traders set prices by buying and selling outcome shares in an automated market maker (AMM) system. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Each temperature outcome is represented as a tradable contract, and the price of each reflects the probability implied by the current order book and liquidity pool. As traders adjust their positions based on new weather forecasts, model updates, or real-world conditions, prices shift dynamically. The spread between bid and ask prices tightens as volume increases, rewarding early information with better execution and encouraging continuous price discovery throughout the event window.
This market resolves around Jun 18, 2026, once the highest temperature recorded in Tel Aviv on June 18 becomes verifiable from credible public sources. The outcome is determined by comparing trader predictions against the actual meteorological data reported for that date. Resolution occurs after the event window closes and official temperature readings are confirmed, at which point winning positions are paid out and losing positions expire worthless. The exact settlement is based on the temperature range or specific degree threshold that was agreed upon at market creation.
Major weather pattern shifts, updated seasonal forecasts, or unexpected atmospheric systems could significantly move prices in this market. Real-time meteorological alerts, changes in jet stream positioning, or anomalous heat waves reported in the region would likely trigger sharp repricing. Additionally, historical temperature records for Tel Aviv in mid-June and any climate anomalies announced by regional weather authorities could influence trader positioning. As the event date approaches, intraday weather model updates and satellite imagery become increasingly important catalysts, with traders adjusting positions hours before the actual temperature is recorded.
