The resolution source for this market will be information from NOAA, specifically the highest reading under the "Temp" column for all times on this day, available here: https://www.weather.gov/wrh/timeseries?site=LLBG To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the "Switch to Metric Units" button until the relevant table displays °C. This market can not resolve until the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source. Prediction market odds often diverge from traditional weather analyst forecasts because they incorporate real-time trader positioning and incentivize accuracy through financial stakes. While meteorologists publish point estimates and confidence intervals based on numerical models, this market aggregates dispersed information from participants who profit only if their bets prove correct. Comparing the implied probabilities here to published forecasts from national weather services or climate analysts can reveal where the crowd sees upside or downside risk relative to official guidance. Such gaps sometimes highlight model uncertainty or emerging data that hasn't yet shifted consensus forecasts.
On Polymarket, traders set prices by buying and selling outcome shares in an automated market maker (AMM) pool. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Each temperature range is represented as a separate contract, and the cost to buy a share rises as demand increases, creating a dynamic price discovery mechanism. Liquidity providers deposit capital into the pool to enable trading, and their fees are funded by the bid-ask spread. The current odds reflect the marginal trader's willingness to pay, updated continuously as new information and positions flow in.
This market resolves around Jun 15, 2026, once the highest temperature recorded in Tel Aviv on June 15 is verified against credible public sources. The outcome is determined by comparing the final reading to the predefined temperature brackets offered in the market. Traders holding shares in the winning outcome receive their payout, while losing positions expire worthless. Resolution typically occurs within hours of the close of the trading day, pending confirmation from official meteorological data.
Major weather pattern shifts, updated seasonal forecasts, and real-time atmospheric data releases can significantly move odds in this market. Tropical systems, heat domes, or anomalous pressure systems affecting the Eastern Mediterranean would trigger repricing. Climate indices such as sea surface temperature anomalies and the North Atlantic Oscillation may also influence trader expectations. As June 15 approaches, intra-day weather model runs and satellite imagery become more precise, often causing sharp adjustments. Breaking news about atmospheric blocking patterns or jet stream behavior can accelerate volatility in the final days before settlement.
