Prediction market odds often diverge from traditional weather analyst forecasts because they reflect real-money incentives and crowd wisdom rather than single-model outputs. In this market, traders are pricing in their collective assessment of July 13 conditions in Tel Aviv, which may weight recent climate patterns, historical data, and seasonal trends differently than meteorological models. Comparing the odds here to published forecasts from national weather services or climate research institutions can reveal where the market is more bullish or bearish on extreme heat. Such comparisons help identify whether traders are pricing in tail risks that analysts may underweight.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker that converts trader positions into real-time probability quotes. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Each outcome—such as whether the high will reach a specific temperature—has its own contract, and the price of each reflects the cumulative bets placed on it. As traders buy or sell contracts, the price adjusts algorithmically to balance supply and demand. This mechanism ensures continuous liquidity and allows participants to enter or exit positions at transparent, market-determined rates throughout the trading window.
This market resolves around Jul 13, 2026, once July 13 has passed and the highest temperature recorded in Tel Aviv for that day is confirmed. The outcome is determined by verified data from credible public sources that document the actual peak temperature. Once the event is observable and reported, the market settles according to which outcome bracket or threshold the final temperature falls into. Traders who correctly predicted the range receive their winnings, while incorrect positions expire worthless.
Several factors could shift odds in this market before Jul 13, 2026. Updated seasonal forecasts or anomalies in atmospheric patterns—such as heat waves or unusual pressure systems—often trigger repricing. Major weather model updates from meteorological agencies can sway trader sentiment, especially if they show a significant change in the expected high. Real-time temperature data from early July may also influence expectations for mid-month conditions. Additionally, any unusual climate events or shifts in regional weather patterns reported in the news could prompt traders to adjust their positions as new information becomes available.
