The resolution source for this market will be information from Wunderground, specifically the highest temperature recorded for all times on this day for the Taipei Songshan Airport Station, available here: https://www.wunderground.com/history/daily/tw/taipei/RCSS. To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the gear icon next to the search bar and switch the Temperature setting between °F and °C. This market can not resolve until the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Celsius (eg, 9°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.

Prediction market odds often diverge from traditional meteorological forecasts because they incorporate real-time trader positioning, risk appetite, and collective intelligence beyond single-model outputs. While weather agencies publish deterministic or probabilistic forecasts based on atmospheric models, this market aggregates the beliefs of many participants with financial incentives to be accurate. Comparing the implied probability here to published forecasts from Taiwan's Central Weather Bureau or international models can reveal where traders see undervalued or overvalued temperature ranges, offering a complementary perspective on June 15's expected conditions.
On Polymarket, traders set prices by buying and selling outcome shares in an automated market maker or order-book system, with each contract representing a specific temperature range or threshold. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each outcome reflects the collective probability assigned by the market; higher prices indicate stronger consensus that a given temperature band will occur. Liquidity and trading volume influence how easily participants can enter or exit positions, and wider spreads may appear during periods of low activity or high uncertainty about June 15's weather.
This market resolves around Jun 15, 2026, once June 15 has passed and the highest temperature recorded in Taipei that day is verified against credible public sources. The outcome is determined by comparing the final official reading to the predefined temperature brackets or thresholds embedded in the contract. Traders holding shares in the correct outcome receive their payout, while incorrect positions expire worthless. Resolution typically occurs within hours or days after the event, pending confirmation from reliable meteorological data.
Major weather pattern shifts, seasonal monsoon activity, and updated atmospheric models from meteorological agencies can significantly influence trader positioning in this market. Unexpected heat waves, tropical systems, or cold fronts affecting East Asia in the weeks leading up to June 15 may trigger sharp repricing. Real-time updates from weather forecasters, historical temperature anomalies, and climate indices like the Pacific Decadal Oscillation also shape expectations. As the event date approaches, intraday forecasts and satellite imagery become increasingly important catalysts for price movement.
