Prediction market odds on Polymarket reflect aggregated trader expectations and often incorporate meteorological forecasts, climate models, and historical June temperature patterns for Taipei. While professional weather analysts publish point forecasts and confidence intervals based on atmospheric data, prediction markets price in broader uncertainty and real-time information flow. Comparing the market's implied probability distribution to official forecasts from Taiwan's Central Weather Bureau or international models can reveal whether traders are pricing in higher or lower temperatures than consensus, helping identify potential mispricings or emerging consensus shifts.
On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. On Polymarket, the highest temperature in Taipei on June 10 is priced as a set of outcome contracts, each representing a specific temperature range or exact value. Traders buy and sell shares in outcomes they believe will occur, with prices reflecting the collective probability estimate. The market uses an automated market maker or order-book mechanism to determine prices based on supply and demand. As new weather models, seasonal data, and real-time conditions emerge, prices adjust continuously, allowing traders to enter or exit positions at any time before the Jun 10, 2026 resolution deadline.
The market resolves on Jun 10, 2026, after the highest temperature in Taipei on June 10, 2026 has been recorded and verified. The outcome is determined by the official maximum temperature reading for that day, sourced from Taiwan's meteorological authority or designated reference station. Once the final temperature is confirmed and published, the winning outcome contract is settled and traders receive payouts proportional to their holdings. The resolution process is automated once the official data becomes available, ensuring transparent and timely settlement.
Major signals include updated seasonal climate forecasts, tropical storm or typhoon activity in the Western Pacific, shifts in the East Asian monsoon pattern, and real-time atmospheric pressure and humidity trends. El Niño or La Niña conditions can influence regional temperature anomalies. As June 10 approaches, short-range weather models become more reliable, typically causing sharper price moves. Historical June temperature records for Taipei and any unusual heat waves or cold fronts in the weeks leading up to the date will also influence trader positioning and market odds.
