Frequently asked questions

The Singapore temperature market dashboard on Polymarket tracks real-time odds and trading activity for the highest temperature forecast on June 29. Traders here are pricing their beliefs about whether the peak temperature will hit exactly 31°C or fall into other ranges. The interface displays current odds, historical price movements, and liquidity depth, giving you a live snapshot of how the market is valuing different temperature outcomes as new information emerges.

Prediction markets and traditional weather forecasts operate differently. While meteorologists issue point estimates and confidence intervals based on atmospheric models, this market aggregates trader beliefs into probabilistic odds. The two approaches often align on broad trends but can diverge when traders incorporate non-meteorological factors—such as historical patterns or recent anomalies—that analysts may weight differently. Comparing the market's implied probability to official forecasts can reveal where consensus is strongest or where uncertainty remains highest.

This market resolves around Jun 29, 2026, once June 29 has passed and the highest temperature recorded in Singapore is confirmed. The outcome will be verified against credible public sources to determine which temperature bracket or exact value occurred. Traders holding shares in the correct outcome receive their payout, while incorrect positions expire worthless. The resolution hinges on official temperature data from that date.

Several factors could shift odds in this market before Jun 29, 2026. Updated seasonal forecasts or tropical weather patterns—such as approaching monsoons or high-pressure systems—may alter expectations. Real-time atmospheric data, historical temperature records for late June, and any unusual climate anomalies will influence trader positioning. Additionally, shifts in broader climate indices or unexpected weather events in the region could prompt rapid repricing as participants reassess the likelihood of extreme or moderate temperatures on that specific day.
