Frequently asked questions

Prediction market odds on Polymarket reflect real-time aggregation of trader beliefs about Singapore's June 11 high temperature, often incorporating meteorological models and seasonal patterns faster than traditional analyst consensus. Meteorological agencies and climate analysts typically issue forecasts based on historical data and atmospheric modeling, while prediction markets price in live information and trader conviction. The market odds may diverge from analyst point estimates when traders anticipate weather system changes, monsoon activity shifts, or urban heat effects that analysts have not yet fully weighted. Comparing the two reveals whether the crowd is pricing in tail risks or confidence intervals that official forecasts downplay.

The market resolves on Jun 11, 2026, after the highest temperature in Singapore on June 11 has been recorded and verified. The outcome is determined by the official maximum temperature reading for that date from the designated meteorological authority. Resolution occurs once the final data is published and confirmed, at which point winning shares are paid out and losing shares expire worthless. Traders should monitor the official weather station data and any platform announcements regarding the exact source and timing of the temperature measurement to understand when settlement will occur.

Key signals include updated seasonal monsoon forecasts, tropical weather system development in the Indian Ocean or South China Sea, and real-time atmospheric pressure and humidity readings as June approaches. Urban heat island effects and local air quality conditions can also influence daytime highs. Major weather events such as tropical storms or unexpected cloud cover would shift trader expectations downward, while high-pressure systems and clear skies would push odds toward higher temperatures. Historical June temperature patterns and any anomalies in May readings may prompt traders to adjust their positions. Meteorological agency updates and regional climate alerts will likely trigger sharp repricing.
