Prediction market odds often diverge from traditional weather analyst forecasts because they incorporate real-time trader behavior and incentivized risk-taking. While meteorologists issue deterministic temperature ranges based on atmospheric models, this market aggregates dispersed information through price discovery. Traders betting on whether the highest temperature will match specific outcomes may spot patterns or weight recent data differently than published forecasts. Comparing the current odds to official weather agency predictions can reveal where the crowd sees upside or downside risk relative to expert consensus.
This market resolves around Jul 12, 2026, once July 12 has passed and the highest temperature recorded in Singapore for that day is confirmed. The outcome is determined by verified meteorological data from credible public sources tracking actual weather conditions. Whichever outcome matches the official recorded high temperature will be marked correct, and traders holding winning shares receive their payout. Until that point, prices will fluctuate as new weather forecasts and real-time conditions emerge.
Several factors can shift odds in this market before resolution. Updated weather forecasts from meteorological agencies—especially those predicting heat waves or unusual atmospheric patterns—often trigger sharp price moves. Real-time satellite data, monsoon activity, and regional climate anomalies can signal higher or lower temperatures ahead. Major weather events in nearby regions may also influence Singapore's conditions. As the event date approaches, intraday weather updates and live temperature readings will likely drive increased trading volume and volatility, reflecting traders' evolving confidence in specific temperature outcomes.
