Frequently asked questions

On Polymarket, the Shenzhen temperature market dashboard tracks real-time odds and trading activity for the highest temperature forecast in Shenzhen on June 29. The interface displays current market prices, historical price movements, and 24-hour trading volume, allowing traders to monitor how sentiment shifts as the event date approaches. This dashboard provides a live window into how the prediction community is pricing the likelihood of different temperature outcomes, from cooler conditions to hotter-than-average scenarios.

Prediction markets like this one often diverge from traditional weather forecasts because they aggregate real-time trader conviction rather than relying solely on meteorological models. While meteorologists publish point forecasts and confidence intervals based on atmospheric data, traders in this market price outcomes based on available information, historical patterns, and their own assessments. The market's odds can shift rapidly if new weather data emerges or if consensus among participants changes, making it a dynamic alternative to static analyst predictions for June 29 conditions in Shenzhen.

On Polymarket, traders set prices by buying and selling shares that represent different temperature outcomes. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Each contract trades between 0 and 1, where the price reflects the collective probability assigned by the market. As traders place orders, the price adjusts to reflect new information and shifting expectations about the highest temperature on June 29. The current market price directly translates to an implied probability, giving traders a transparent mechanism to express their forecast and profit if their view proves correct.

This market resolves around Jun 29, 2026, once June 29 has passed and the highest temperature in Shenzhen can be verified from credible public sources. The outcome is determined by comparing actual recorded temperatures against the threshold specified in the market contract. Traders who correctly predicted whether conditions would fall above or below that threshold receive their payout, while those on the wrong side of the trade forfeit their stake. Resolution typically occurs within hours or a day after the event concludes.

Several factors could shift odds in this market before June 29 arrives. Updated weather models and seasonal forecasts from meteorological agencies may signal stronger or weaker heat patterns, prompting traders to adjust positions. Major climate events, such as tropical systems or unusual atmospheric patterns affecting southern China, could trigger rapid repricing. Additionally, historical temperature records for that date and real-time atmospheric data releases will influence trader confidence. As the event date draws closer, intraday weather updates and satellite imagery often drive final price adjustments.
