Frequently asked questions

The Odds & Prediction Markets dashboard on Polymarket tracks real-time odds and historical price movements for the highest temperature forecast in Shenzhen on June 11. The dashboard displays the current implied probability of the top outcome, 24-hour trading volume of $164,192, and a price history chart showing how market sentiment has evolved. Traders use this data to monitor consensus expectations and identify shifts in temperature predictions as new weather models and atmospheric data emerge closer to the resolution date.

Prediction market odds on Polymarket reflect aggregated trader beliefs about Shenzhen's peak temperature on June 11, often incorporating meteorological models and seasonal patterns faster than traditional analyst forecasts. While weather analysts typically issue point estimates or ranges based on historical climate data and numerical weather prediction, prediction markets price in real-time uncertainty and tail risks. Comparing the implied probability from Polymarket to official meteorological agency forecasts and seasonal climate outlooks can reveal where traders expect conditions to diverge from baseline expectations.

The market resolves on Jun 11, 2026, after the highest temperature in Shenzhen on June 11 has been recorded and verified. Resolution depends on official meteorological data from Shenzhen's weather monitoring stations, which measure and report daily maximum temperatures. The outcome is determined by comparing the actual recorded high temperature against the contract's specified threshold, ensuring an objective, data-driven settlement based on authoritative climate records.

Temperature predictions for Shenzhen on June 11 can shift based on updated weather models, seasonal monsoon patterns, and atmospheric pressure systems affecting southern China. Major weather events—such as tropical cyclones, cold fronts, or heat waves—could significantly alter expectations. Real-time satellite imagery, upper-atmosphere wind patterns, and sea-surface temperature anomalies in the South China Sea also influence trader positioning. As June approaches, increasingly precise meteorological forecasts will narrow uncertainty and drive price convergence toward the actual outcome.
