The market resolves on May 31, 2026, after the highest temperature in Shanghai on May 31 has been recorded and verified. Resolution depends on official temperature data from Shanghai's meteorological authority or a designated reference source. Once the final temperature is confirmed, the market settles and winning shares are credited to traders who correctly predicted the outcome.
Weather forecasts and seasonal climate patterns are primary drivers of odds movement. Approaching monsoon systems, heat waves, or cold fronts can shift trader expectations significantly. Long-range meteorological models updated weekly provide new information that traders incorporate into prices. Historical temperature records for Shanghai in late May serve as anchoring points. As May 31 draws closer, short-range forecasts become more reliable and can trigger sharp repricing. Additionally, global climate anomalies, El Niño conditions, or unusual atmospheric patterns may influence regional temperature expectations and market sentiment.
