Prediction market odds often diverge from traditional weather forecasts because they incorporate real-time trader sentiment and risk appetite alongside meteorological models. While professional meteorologists publish point estimates and confidence intervals, this market aggregates the financial stakes of thousands of participants betting on the same outcome. Analysts may issue a single consensus forecast, whereas traders here are continuously repricing based on new data, model updates, and market dynamics. The two approaches complement each other: one is expert-driven, the other is incentive-driven.
This market resolves around Jun 29, 2026, once June 29 has passed and the day's weather data is finalized. The outcome is determined by the highest temperature recorded in Seoul on that date, verified against credible public sources. If the peak temperature reaches 30°C or higher, the yes outcome wins; otherwise, no prevails. Resolution typically occurs within hours of the event, allowing traders to settle positions and move capital to the next opportunity.
Several factors can shift odds in this market before Jun 29, 2026. Updated seasonal forecasts and long-range weather models are primary drivers, especially as June approaches. Real-time atmospheric patterns, El Niño or La Niña conditions, and regional heat waves can all influence trader positioning. News of unusual climate events or volcanic activity affecting solar radiation may also trigger repricing. Additionally, as the date draws closer, short-range forecasts become more reliable, often causing sharper price movements as uncertainty narrows and consensus hardens.
