Frequently asked questions

On Polymarket, the Seoul temperature market dashboard tracks real-time odds and trading activity for the highest temperature forecast in Seoul on June 26. The interface displays current market prices, 24-hour trading volume of $195,140, and cumulative volume of $253,220 across all outcome contracts. Traders use this data to monitor how market sentiment shifts as new weather models and forecasts emerge, allowing participants to gauge consensus expectations for peak temperature conditions on that specific date.

Prediction market odds reflect aggregated trader expectations and often diverge from traditional meteorologist forecasts because they incorporate real-time information, economic incentives, and collective intelligence. While weather analysts publish deterministic point forecasts or ranges based on numerical models, this market prices uncertainty through continuous trading. Comparing the implied probability from market odds to published forecasts from Seoul's meteorological authority or international weather services can reveal where traders believe official models may be underestimating or overestimating temperature risk on June 26.

This market resolves around Jun 26, 2026, once June 26 has passed and the highest temperature recorded in Seoul that day is verifiable from credible public sources. The outcome is determined by comparing actual recorded temperatures against the predefined thresholds embedded in each contract. Resolution occurs after official meteorological data is published and confirmed, ensuring all traders have access to the same authoritative information before payouts are finalized.

Major weather pattern shifts, updated seasonal forecasts, or anomalous atmospheric conditions could significantly move prices in this market. Real-time developments such as heat waves, cold fronts, or changes to the jet stream position over East Asia may prompt traders to reassess their positions. Additionally, historical temperature records for Seoul in late June, climate indices like the Pacific Decadal Oscillation, and medium-range weather model updates released in the days leading up to June 26 will likely drive trading activity and price adjustments.
