Frequently asked questions

Prediction market odds reflect aggregated trader expectations and often incorporate meteorological forecasts, historical climate patterns, and seasonal trends. Professional weather analysts typically publish point estimates or ranges for Seoul's June temperatures based on atmospheric models and historical data. Market odds may diverge from single-analyst forecasts due to uncertainty pricing and trader risk preferences. Comparing the implied probability on Polymarket to published forecasts from Korea Meteorological Administration or international weather services can reveal whether markets are pricing in more or less optimism about extreme heat than official predictions suggest.

The market resolves on Jun 13, 2026, after the highest temperature in Seoul on June 13 has been recorded and verified. Resolution is determined by official temperature data for that date. Traders should monitor the specified data source and resolution criteria outlined in the market terms to understand which measurement point and time window define the outcome. Once the actual high temperature is confirmed, the market settles and payouts are distributed to holders of the winning outcome.

Key signals include updated weather forecasts from meteorological agencies, seasonal climate patterns, atmospheric pressure systems, and jet stream positioning over East Asia. Major weather events such as typhoons, monsoons, or heat waves in the region can shift expectations significantly. Real-time temperature readings in the days leading up to June 13 provide concrete data that traders use to refine predictions. Long-range climate indices, El Niño or La Niña conditions, and historical temperature records for Seoul in mid-June also influence market pricing as traders assess the likelihood of unusually hot or cool conditions.
