This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the highest temperature recorded at the Incheon Intl Airport Station in degrees Celsius on 10 Jul '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from Wunderground, specifically the highest temperature recorded for all times on this day for the Incheon Intl Airport Station, available here: https://www.wunderground.com/history/daily/kr/incheon/RKSI. To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the gear icon next to the search bar and switch the Temperature setting between °F and °C. This market can not resolve until the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Celsius (eg, 9°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.

Prediction market odds often diverge from traditional meteorologist forecasts because they incorporate real-time trader behavior and incentivize accuracy through financial stakes. While weather analysts publish deterministic point estimates or ranges based on atmospheric models, this market aggregates the distributed knowledge of participants who profit only if their temperature prediction proves correct. Comparing the current odds to published forecasts from national weather services can reveal where the crowd sees upside or downside risk relative to official guidance. Such gaps sometimes signal emerging model disagreement or reflect market participants' interpretation of uncertainty that analysts may not fully quantify.
On Polymarket, traders set the odds by buying and selling shares that represent different temperature outcomes. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Each share pays out based on whether the actual high temperature matches the specified range or threshold. The price of a share reflects the collective probability estimate—higher prices mean the crowd views that outcome as more likely. Liquidity pools and order books determine how much it costs to move the market, so large trades can shift odds more dramatically than small ones. Real-time price discovery ensures the market continuously reprices as new weather information becomes available.
This market resolves around Jul 10, 2026, once July 10 has passed and the day's highest temperature in Seoul can be verified. The outcome is confirmed against credible public reporting from established meteorological sources. Once the official peak temperature is recorded and published, the market settles automatically based on which outcome bracket or threshold the actual reading falls into. Traders who held shares in the correct outcome receive their payout, while incorrect positions expire worthless. The resolution is deterministic and final once the data is publicly available.
Weather model updates are the primary driver of price movement in this market. Major shifts in atmospheric forecasts—such as a sudden change in wind patterns, unexpected cloud cover, or revised heat dome intensity—can cause sharp repricing. Real-world events like volcanic activity or unusual solar conditions could also influence Seoul's temperature trajectory. As July 10 approaches, each new forecast cycle from meteorological agencies typically triggers trading activity. Historical temperature anomalies or seasonal pattern breaks may also prompt traders to reassess their positions. The closer the event date, the more stable the odds typically become as uncertainty narrows.
