This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the highest temperature recorded at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport Station in degrees Fahrenheit on 5 Jun '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from Wunderground, specifically the highest temperature recorded for all times on this day for the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport Station, available here: https://www.wunderground.com/history/daily/us/wa/seatac/KSEA. To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the gear icon next to the search bar and switch the Temperature setting between °F and °C. This market can not resolve until the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Fahrenheit (eg, 21°F). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.
The market resolves on Jun 5, 2026, after the highest temperature observation for Seattle on June 5 is recorded. Resolution hinges on official temperature data from a designated weather station or meteorological authority. The specific measurement methodology, time window, and data source are defined in the market's terms. Once the final temperature is confirmed, the outcome is determined by comparing it against the threshold embedded in each contract. Markets typically resolve within hours of the event close, though verification delays can extend settlement slightly.
Major weather pattern shifts, including changes to high-pressure systems, jet stream positioning, and marine air intrusion, can significantly alter Seattle's June 5 temperature outlook. Updated National Weather Service forecasts and ensemble model runs often trigger trader repositioning. Anomalous spring or early-summer heat waves affecting the Pacific Northwest would push odds toward higher temperatures. Conversely, persistent cloud cover or cool ocean currents favor lower readings. Historical analogs to past June 5 conditions and broader climate indices like the Pacific Decadal Oscillation may influence longer-term positioning. Real-time atmospheric data releases and satellite imagery can spark intraday volatility as traders refine their edge.
