Prediction market odds reflect real-money bets from traders worldwide and often diverge from traditional weather analyst forecasts. While meteorologists rely on atmospheric models and historical data, this market aggregates dispersed information and incentivizes accuracy through financial stakes. Comparing the current market odds to published forecasts from the National Weather Service or local Seattle meteorologists can reveal where traders see upside or downside risk. Markets tend to update faster than official forecasts as new data emerges, making them a complementary signal rather than a replacement for expert analysis.
This market resolves around Jun 25, 2026, once the highest temperature recorded in Seattle on that date is confirmed. The outcome is verified against credible public sources, such as official weather station data or recognized meteorological records. Once the actual peak temperature is reported and locked in, the market settles automatically, and traders' positions are paid out according to which outcome bracket the final reading falls into. No further trading occurs after the event concludes and the result is finalized.
Several factors can shift odds in this market before Jun 25, 2026. Updated weather models and forecast revisions from meteorologists often trigger repricing as traders adjust their positions. Seasonal weather patterns, atmospheric pressure systems, and any unusual climate anomalies reported in the days leading up to June 25 can influence trader sentiment. Real-time conditions closer to the date—such as cloud cover, wind patterns, or unexpected heat waves—typically drive the most dramatic moves. Early trading activity and volume spikes can also signal growing conviction among traders about a particular outcome.
