This event group asks what the highest temperature will be in Seattle on July 11, 2026. Kalshi and Polymarket both reference this same date but use different data sources, measurement precision, and resolution timing frameworks. The core question is unified, but the platforms diverge on source authority and when resolution can occur.
This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the highest temperature recorded at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport Station in degrees Fahrenheit on 11 Jul '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from Wunderground, specifically the highest temperature recorded for all times on this day for the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport Station, available here: https://www.wunderground.com/history/daily/us/wa/seatac/KSEA. To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the gear icon next to the search bar and switch the Temperature setting between °F and °C. This market can not resolve until the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Fahrenheit (eg, 21°F). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.
Resolution is based on the maximum temperature recorded at Seattle-Tacoma, WA on July 10, 2026, as reported in the National Weather Service's Climatological Report (Daily). The temperature is divided into six ranges: 70°F or below, 71-72°F, 73-74°F, 75-76°F, 77-78°F, and 79°F or above. Each range corresponds to a distinct outcome. Official data must be obtained from the NWS Climatological Report via the specified URL, selecting Seattle-Tacoma, WA with Daily Climate Report. While preliminary NWS data and third-party weather sources may provide guidance, the final determination uses only the official NWS Climatological Report (Daily) values. Traders should be aware that preliminary NWS reporting and measurement methods may involve rounding and conversion nuances that could affect the final reading.
Prediction market prices often diverge from traditional weather forecasts because they aggregate dispersed information and financial incentives. While meteorologists rely on physics-based models and historical data, traders in this market incorporate real-time satellite imagery, ensemble forecasts, and their own conviction. Markets tend to update faster than official forecasts when new data arrives, and they naturally reflect tail-risk pricing—traders may price in unlikely but high-impact scenarios. Comparing this market's odds to your local National Weather Service forecast can reveal where consensus differs and highlight which outcomes traders view as underpriced or overpriced relative to expert opinion.
Major weather pattern shifts—such as a high-pressure system stalling over the Pacific Northwest or an unexpected cold front—can dramatically reprrice this market. Updated ensemble forecasts from the National Weather Service or European model runs often trigger sharp moves. Seasonal anomalies, ocean temperature data, and atmospheric blocking patterns all influence trader positioning. Real-time satellite imagery and upper-air observations in the days leading up to July 11 will likely drive the most significant swings. Additionally, historical analogs—similar July 11 dates in past years—may resurface as traders hedge their positions closer to resolution.
