Prediction market odds on Polymarket reflect real-money trader expectations and can be compared against meteorological forecasts from agencies like INMET (Brazil's National Institute of Meteorology) and international weather models. Analysts typically issue temperature ranges based on seasonal patterns, atmospheric pressure systems, and historical June data for Sao Paulo. Prediction markets often incorporate analyst consensus but may diverge when traders anticipate unusual weather patterns or have access to newer data. Comparing both sources provides a fuller picture of temperature expectations for that specific date.
On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. On Polymarket, this event is priced through outcome shares representing specific temperature ranges or thresholds. Traders buy and sell shares corresponding to their belief about the highest temperature, with prices reflecting the collective probability assigned to each outcome. The market uses an automated market maker model, so prices adjust dynamically based on order flow and trading volume. As June 9 approaches, prices typically tighten around the most likely outcomes, and traders can exit positions at any time before resolution.
The market resolves on Jun 9, 2026 after the highest temperature in Sao Paulo on June 9 has been officially recorded. Resolution depends on the final temperature reading from the designated meteorological authority for that date. Once the official data is published, the outcome is determined and winning shares are paid out accordingly. Traders should monitor official weather station reports and any clarifications from the market operator regarding which specific measurement source will be used for settlement.
Temperature predictions for Sao Paulo on June 9 can shift based on updated weather forecasts, seasonal climate patterns, and atmospheric conditions. Cold fronts or high-pressure systems moving into Brazil in early June would lower expected temperatures, while heat waves or tropical air masses would raise them. Long-range meteorological models updated weekly may reveal changing patterns. Historical June temperature data and current climate anomalies also influence trader expectations. As the date approaches, short-range forecasts become more reliable, typically causing sharper price movements in the final days before resolution.
