Prediction market odds on Polymarket reflect aggregated trader beliefs and can be compared against meteorological forecasts from weather agencies and climate analysts. Markets often incorporate real-time data and rapid consensus-building, while traditional forecasts rely on established models and historical patterns. Divergences between market odds and analyst predictions may signal new information, model uncertainty, or trader disagreement about seasonal factors affecting Sao Paulo's June weather. Monitoring both sources provides a fuller picture of temperature expectations heading into the resolution date.
The market resolves on Jun 6, 2026, after the highest temperature recorded in Sao Paulo on June 6 is officially documented. Resolution depends on verified meteorological data from recognized weather stations or official sources monitoring Sao Paulo's climate on that specific day. The outcome is determined by the actual peak temperature reached during the 24-hour period, which is then matched against the predefined outcome categories in the market. Once the official temperature reading is confirmed, the corresponding outcome contract is settled and all positions are finalized.
Several factors could shift market odds for Sao Paulo's June 6 high temperature. Seasonal weather pattern updates, tropical storm systems, or shifts in the South Atlantic pressure systems could alter expectations significantly. Long-range climate forecasts and El Niño or La Niña developments may influence regional temperature trends. Real-time meteorological alerts closer to June 6 will likely drive sharp price movements as traders incorporate the latest data. Urban heat island effects and local atmospheric conditions specific to Sao Paulo's geography also play a role in final temperature outcomes.
