This market resolves around Jun 25, 2026, once June 25 has passed and the day's highest temperature is recorded. The outcome is confirmed against credible public sources documenting the actual peak temperature in San Francisco. Traders holding shares in the winning outcome receive their payout based on the final verified reading. Until that date, prices may shift as weather models update and real-time conditions emerge, so active traders can adjust positions right up until market close.
Several factors can shift odds in the coming weeks. Updated National Weather Service forecasts, especially those showing high-pressure systems or heat waves approaching Northern California, typically push prices higher. Seasonal climate patterns—such as early-summer marine layer strength or jet-stream positioning—also influence trader positioning. Real-time atmospheric data, including sea-surface temperatures and upper-level winds, may trigger repricing as the event date approaches. Additionally, any unusual weather events elsewhere in the region or shifts in long-range ensemble models can prompt traders to reassess their conviction, creating trading opportunities and price volatility.
