The resolution source for this market will be information from Wunderground, specifically the highest temperature recorded for all times on this day for the Qingdao Jiaodong International Airport Station, available here: https://www.wunderground.com/history/daily/cn/qingdao/ZSQD. To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the gear icon next to the search bar and switch the Temperature setting between °F and °C. This market can not resolve until the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Celsius (eg, 9°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.
The market resolves on May 31, 2026. Resolution is determined by the official highest temperature recorded in Qingdao on May 31, 2026. The outcome is typically verified against data from recognized meteorological authorities or official weather stations serving the Qingdao region. Once the actual peak temperature is confirmed, the market settles to the corresponding outcome share, and traders holding winning shares receive their proportional payout based on final odds.
Several factors could shift market odds for Qingdao's May 31 temperature. Updated seasonal forecasts and long-range weather models may indicate warmer or cooler conditions ahead. Regional climate patterns, such as shifts in monsoon timing or unusual air mass movements, could influence expectations. Real-time weather data closer to the event date will refine predictions. Additionally, historical anomalies or climate events affecting East China could prompt traders to reprice their positions. As May 31 approaches, near-term meteorological forecasts will become increasingly influential in driving market movement.
