The resolution source for this market will be information from Wunderground, specifically the highest temperature recorded for all times on this day for the Paris-Le Bourget Airport Station, available here: https://www.wunderground.com/history/daily/fr/bonneuil-en-france/LFPB. To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the gear icon next to the search bar and switch the Temperature setting between °F and °C. This market can not resolve until the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Celsius (eg, 9°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.

Prediction market odds often diverge from traditional weather analyst forecasts because traders incorporate real-time data, model uncertainty, and collective intelligence. While meteorologists issue deterministic temperature ranges based on numerical models, this market aggregates thousands of individual probability estimates from traders betting on whether the highest temperature will reach 44°C or higher. Analyst forecasts tend to be more conservative and updated on fixed schedules, whereas market odds adjust continuously as traders react to new satellite data, atmospheric patterns, and model updates. Both approaches offer value: analysts provide detailed reasoning, while markets reveal crowd-sourced confidence levels.
This market resolves around Jun 26, 2026, once the highest temperature recorded in Paris on June 26 is verified against credible public sources. The outcome is determined by comparing the final temperature reading to the threshold specified in the market's primary outcome. Traders who correctly predicted whether the temperature would reach or exceed that threshold receive their winnings, while incorrect positions expire worthless. Resolution typically occurs within hours of the event closing, allowing rapid settlement and payout.
Several factors could shift odds significantly before June 26. Updated weather models from major forecasting centers—particularly European and global agencies—often trigger repricing as confidence in temperature predictions changes. Atmospheric anomalies, such as unexpected heat waves or jet stream repositioning, can rapidly alter trader expectations. Real-time satellite imagery and surface observations in the days leading up to the event will influence late-stage trading. Additionally, historical temperature records for that date and time of year may prompt traders to reassess baseline probabilities, especially if recent climate patterns suggest deviation from long-term averages.
