Frequently asked questions

Prediction market odds on Polymarket reflect real-money consensus from traders betting on Paris temperatures, while traditional analyst forecasts come from meteorological models and weather services. Markets often incorporate broader information faster than static forecasts, though both rely on historical climate data and seasonal patterns. Comparing the two reveals whether traders are pricing in more optimistic or pessimistic temperature scenarios than official weather predictions for June 12 in Paris.

The market resolves on Jun 12, 2026, after the highest temperature in Paris on June 12 has been recorded and verified. Resolution depends on official temperature data for that date, typically sourced from recognized meteorological authorities. Once the actual highest temperature is confirmed, the corresponding outcome shares are settled at their final value, and traders' positions are closed based on whether their prediction matched the realized temperature.

Major weather pattern shifts, updated seasonal forecasts, and atmospheric anomalies can significantly move odds before June 12. Heat waves, cold fronts, or unusual jet stream behavior affecting Western Europe will influence trader expectations. Real-time weather model updates, particularly from major forecasting centers, often trigger repricing. Additionally, broader climate trends, solar activity reports, and any unusual atmospheric events in the weeks leading up to June 12 could shift market sentiment about whether Paris will experience above-average or below-average temperatures.
