Prediction market odds on Polymarket often diverge from traditional meteorological forecasts and analyst predictions. While weather agencies rely on numerical models and historical data, prediction markets aggregate real-time beliefs of traders with financial incentives to be accurate. Markets may price in tail risks or consensus shifts faster than official forecasts update. Comparing Polymarket odds to published forecasts from Météo-France or European weather services reveals whether traders are more bullish or bearish on extreme temperatures than experts, reflecting different risk assessments and information sets available to each group.

On Polymarket, the highest temperature in Paris on June 1 is priced through binary or range-based outcome contracts. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Each contract represents a specific temperature threshold or band, and traders buy and sell shares reflecting their belief in that outcome. Prices range from 0 to 1 (or 0% to 100%), where higher prices indicate greater market confidence. Volume and liquidity on Polymarket determine how easily traders can enter or exit positions. As June 1 approaches, prices typically converge toward the actual observed temperature, with active trading reflecting new weather data and model updates.

The market resolves on Jun 1, 2026, after the highest temperature in Paris on June 1 has been recorded and verified. Resolution is determined by the official maximum temperature reading for that calendar day in Paris. Traders should monitor official meteorological sources and market announcements as the resolution date approaches to understand which data source will be used for final settlement. Once the actual high temperature is confirmed, the market settles automatically based on which outcome bracket or threshold the recorded value falls into.

Major weather pattern shifts, updated seasonal forecasts, and real-time atmospheric data will drive odds movement. A high-pressure system moving over Western Europe could push odds toward higher temperatures, while Atlantic storm systems might lower them. Tropical air masses or heat waves developing in late May could signal extreme heat on June 1. Conversely, cooler maritime influences or cloud cover could reduce temperature expectations. As June 1 approaches, daily weather models become more precise, causing sharper repricing. Traders will also react to any unusual climate anomalies or historical temperature records for that date in Paris.
