This event tracks the highest temperature recorded in New York City on a specific date in the future. The outcome depends entirely on official weather data from a designated source, reflecting potential climate conditions and variability.
The event resolves based on the maximum temperature recorded in New York City on September 16, 2026, as reported by The Weather Company. Each market corresponds to a specific temperature range, with one market covering temperatures of 74°F or below and another covering 83°F or above, while the remaining markets cover consecutive two-degree increments between these thresholds. All markets share identical secondary rules regarding data verification and error handling. If The Weather Company reports a temperature within a market's defined range, that market resolves to Yes; all others resolve to No. The Exchange retains discretion to delay resolution if it identifies material errors in the initial data publication, allowing time for corrected data to be released. If no valid data becomes available by the Expiration Date, all markets will resolve to the last fair price determined by Kalshi. The 'Final' status on The Weather Company's platform is informational only and does not exempt the data from potential revision under these rules.
