Description

This event tracks the highest temperature reached in New York City on a specific date in the future. It categorizes possible temperature outcomes into distinct ranges, each corresponding to a different resolution condition. The outcome depends solely on the temperature data reported by a designated official source.

Kalshi

The event resolves based on the maximum temperature recorded in New York City (CLINYC) on August 20, 2026, as reported by The Weather Company. Six temperature ranges are defined, each triggering a 'Yes' resolution for its corresponding market if the recorded maximum falls within that range. Temperatures below 78°F resolve the first market, while temperatures of 78°F to 79°F, 80°F to 81°F, 82°F to 83°F, and 84°F to 85°F each resolve their respective markets. Any temperature above 85°F resolves the final market. All markets are mutually exclusive, meaning only one can resolve to 'Yes' depending on the exact temperature recorded. While other weather sources may provide similar data, The Weather Company’s report is the sole authority for determining the official outcome.
