This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the highest temperature recorded at the Munich Airport Station in degrees Celsius on 11 Jul '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from Wunderground, specifically the highest temperature recorded for all times on this day for the Munich Airport Station, available here: https://www.wunderground.com/history/daily/de/munich/EDDM. To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the gear icon next to the search bar and switch the Temperature setting between °F and °C. This market can not resolve until the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Celsius (eg, 9°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.

Prediction market odds and traditional weather analyst forecasts often diverge because they operate on different timescales and incentive structures. Meteorologists publish deterministic or probabilistic forecasts based on atmospheric models, while traders in this market are financially motivated to price in all available information—including model uncertainty, historical patterns, and late-breaking data. As the event date approaches, this market typically converges toward official forecasts, but in the interim, trader sentiment may reflect different risk assessments or weightings of competing weather scenarios. Comparing the two reveals how markets and experts value the same underlying uncertainty differently.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker (AMM) model where traders exchange shares at prices determined by a bonding curve. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Each outcome contract—such as whether the high will be exactly 24°C—has its own price, ranging from near-zero to near-100 cents, reflecting the implied probability. As traders buy shares of an outcome, its price rises; as they sell, it falls. This continuous repricing mechanism ensures liquidity and allows participants to enter or exit positions at transparent, real-time rates throughout the trading window.
This market resolves around Jul 11, 2026, once the highest temperature recorded in Munich on July 11 is verifiable from credible public sources. The outcome is determined by comparing actual weather station data against the temperature thresholds embedded in each contract. Traders who correctly predicted the realized high receive their winnings, while incorrect positions expire worthless. Resolution is automatic once the data is confirmed, ensuring all participants see the same final result simultaneously.
Weather model updates and forecast revisions are the primary drivers of price movement in this market. Major atmospheric pattern shifts—such as a heat dome developing over Central Europe or an unexpected cold front—can trigger sharp repricing as traders adjust their positions. Real-time weather alerts, seasonal anomalies, and historical temperature records for July 11 in Munich also influence sentiment. As the event date approaches, intraday weather radar data and official meteorological bulletins become increasingly influential, often causing late volatility as traders fine-tune their exposure based on the most current atmospheric conditions.
