The resolution source for this market will be information from NOAA, specifically the highest reading under the "Temp" column for all times on this day, available here: https://www.weather.gov/wrh/timeseries?site=UUWW To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the "Switch to Metric Units" button until the relevant table displays °C. This market can not resolve until the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Celsius (eg, 9°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.

Prediction market odds often diverge from traditional weather forecasts because they incorporate real-time trader sentiment and financial incentives alongside meteorological models. While professional meteorologists rely on physics-based simulations and historical data, this market reflects what participants are willing to stake money on. Comparing the two reveals whether the crowd is more bullish or bearish than official forecasts suggest. Prediction markets can sometimes detect emerging consensus faster than traditional analysts update their models, though both approaches have distinct strengths in capturing uncertainty around temperature outcomes.
On Polymarket, traders set prices by buying and selling outcome shares in an automated market maker, where each contract represents a specific temperature range. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each outcome reflects the probability traders assign to it—higher prices indicate stronger belief that outcome will occur. As new information arrives or sentiment shifts, traders adjust their positions, moving prices up or down. This continuous price discovery mechanism ensures the market stays responsive to changing conditions and new weather data leading up to June 19.
This market resolves around Jun 19, 2026, once the highest temperature recorded in Moscow on that date becomes verifiable from credible public sources. The outcome is determined by comparing actual temperature readings against the predefined ranges offered in the market. Traders who correctly predicted the final temperature range receive their winnings, while incorrect positions expire worthless. Resolution is straightforward and objective, tied directly to official meteorological data, ensuring all participants can verify the result independently.
Several factors can shift odds in this market before Jun 19, 2026. Updated weather forecasts from major meteorological agencies often trigger repricing as traders incorporate new model runs and atmospheric data. Seasonal climate patterns, jet stream positioning, and any unusual weather systems developing over Eastern Europe can influence expectations. Real-time temperature readings in the days leading up to June 19 will anchor sentiment more firmly. Breaking news about atmospheric anomalies or heat waves in the region may also prompt rapid position adjustments as traders reassess probability distributions.
