Frequently asked questions

On Polymarket, the Moscow July 4 temperature market dashboard tracks real-time odds and trading activity for contracts tied to the highest temperature forecast in Moscow on July 4. Traders buy and sell shares representing different temperature outcomes, and the current market price reflects the collective prediction of whether conditions will stay cool or warm. The dashboard displays the leading outcome, current odds, and historical price movement, giving you a live snapshot of how the prediction community is pricing this specific weather event.

Prediction market odds often diverge from traditional weather forecasts because they incorporate real-time trader sentiment and risk appetite alongside meteorological models. While professional meteorologists publish point forecasts and confidence intervals, this market aggregates the beliefs of many participants trading with real money, which can surface information or uncertainty that standard forecasts may not emphasize. Comparing the market's implied probability to published analyst guidance can reveal where traders expect conditions to deviate from the consensus—or where they're pricing in additional caution or optimism about July 4 conditions in Moscow.

This market resolves around Jul 4, 2026, once July 4 has passed and the highest temperature recorded in Moscow can be verified. The outcome is confirmed against credible public sources documenting the actual weather conditions. Traders holding shares in the outcome that matches the verified temperature will receive their payout, while those on the losing side forfeit their stake. The resolution process is automatic once the data is finalized, ensuring all participants see the same definitive result.

Several factors could shift odds before resolution. Updated seasonal forecasts or climate models predicting cooler or warmer patterns in early July will influence trader positioning. Major weather systems—such as a cold front or heat dome moving into Eastern Europe—could trigger sharp repricing. Real-time atmospheric data, jet stream changes, and even solar activity anomalies tracked by meteorologists may prompt traders to adjust their bets. As the date approaches, short-term forecasts become more reliable, typically narrowing the range of plausible outcomes and sharpening market consensus around the final temperature range.
