Prediction market odds reflect the aggregated judgment of traders with real money at stake, often incorporating the latest weather models and historical patterns faster than published analyst forecasts. While meteorologists issue point estimates and confidence intervals based on atmospheric science, this market distills those inputs—plus trader intuition and risk appetite—into a single probability. The two approaches are complementary: analysts provide the underlying science, while market odds reveal how much uncertainty traders perceive and what they're willing to wager on specific temperature outcomes.
This market resolves around Jun 27, 2026, once June 27 has passed and the actual highest temperature recorded in Milan can be verified. The outcome is confirmed against credible public sources reporting the day's peak temperature, ensuring an objective and transparent settlement. Traders holding the correct position at resolution receive their payout, while incorrect positions expire worthless.
Major weather pattern shifts—such as a high-pressure system moving into Europe or an unexpected cold front—can significantly alter temperature expectations and shift market odds. Updated seasonal forecasts from meteorological agencies, historical temperature records for late June in Milan, and real-time atmospheric data all influence trader positioning. As the event date approaches, each new weather model run or heat wave warning can trigger rapid repricing, making this market sensitive to both long-range climate signals and short-term meteorological developments.
