On Polymarket, the highest temperature in Milan on June 11 is priced through outcome shares, where each temperature bracket or specific degree range trades as a separate contract. Traders buy and sell shares reflecting their belief in which outcome will occur, with prices ranging from near zero to near one dollar. The market price of each outcome directly implies its probability; higher-priced outcomes are considered more likely by the crowd. Volume and bid-ask spreads indicate liquidity and trader confidence in each temperature range.
The market resolves on Jun 11, 2026, after June 11 concludes in Milan. Resolution is determined by the official highest temperature recorded in Milan on that date, sourced from an authoritative meteorological station or data provider designated by the market. Once the actual peak temperature is confirmed and reported, the outcome shares corresponding to the correct temperature range or value are paid out in full, while all other shares expire worthless. The resolution process typically occurs within hours to a few days after the event date.
Major weather pattern shifts, updated seasonal forecasts, and atmospheric pressure systems affecting Northern Italy could move odds significantly. Heat waves, cold fronts, or unusual jet stream behavior in the weeks leading up to June 11 will influence trader expectations. Climate anomalies, volcanic activity, or solar activity changes could also impact long-term temperature projections. Real-time weather model updates and official meteorological alerts in early June will likely trigger sharp repricing as the event date nears and forecasts become more precise.
