The Mexico City temperature market dashboard on Polymarket tracks real-time odds and historical price movement for predictions on the highest temperature recorded in Mexico City on July 3. Traders buy and sell shares representing different temperature ranges, and the dashboard displays current odds for each outcome, 24-hour trading volume of $44,730, and cumulative activity. This live data reflects how the prediction community is pricing the likelihood of various temperature scenarios as new weather forecasts and historical climate data emerge.

Prediction market odds aggregate the collective judgment of many traders with real financial incentives, often capturing nuances that traditional weather forecasts may miss. While meteorological models provide deterministic temperature projections, this market allows traders to price in uncertainty, model disagreement, and tail risks. Comparing the implied probability from market odds to consensus analyst forecasts can reveal whether traders expect conditions warmer or cooler than the baseline forecast, offering an alternative lens on expected outcomes.

On Polymarket, traders set prices by buying and selling outcome shares in an automated market maker, where each share represents a specific temperature range. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each outcome reflects its implied probability—higher prices indicate traders view that temperature range as more likely. As new information arrives, traders adjust positions, moving prices dynamically. The spread between bid and ask prices narrows or widens based on trading activity and conviction, allowing participants to enter or exit positions continuously until market close.

This market resolves around Jul 3, 2026, once the highest temperature recorded in Mexico City on July 3 becomes verifiable from credible public sources. The outcome is determined by comparing the official temperature reading against the predefined ranges offered in the market. Traders who held shares in the correct outcome receive their payout, while incorrect positions expire worthless. Resolution timing depends on when authoritative temperature data is published and confirmed.

Major weather pattern shifts, updated seasonal forecasts, and real-time atmospheric data will drive price movement in this market. Tropical systems, high-pressure systems, or anomalous heat waves affecting Mexico City could significantly alter trader expectations. Historical climate comparisons to similar July dates and any official heat alerts issued by Mexican meteorological authorities may also influence odds. As July 3 approaches, intraday weather models become more precise, typically triggering sharp repricing in the final days before resolution.
