Prediction market odds reflect real-money incentives for accuracy, whereas traditional weather forecasts from meteorological agencies rely on physics-based models and historical data. This market aggregates dispersed trader knowledge into a single price, often capturing late-breaking information faster than official updates. Comparing the odds here to published forecasts from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration or international weather bureaus can reveal where professional consensus and market expectations diverge—a useful signal for identifying underpriced or overpriced temperature ranges.
On Polymarket, traders buy and sell shares representing different temperature outcomes, with the share price directly reflecting the implied probability. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market uses an automated market maker to set prices based on order flow and liquidity depth. As new information emerges—weather model updates, seasonal patterns, or real-time atmospheric data—traders adjust their positions, moving prices to reflect revised expectations. Higher prices indicate outcomes traders view as more likely to occur by the resolution date.
This market resolves around Jun 30, 2026, once the highest temperature recorded in Manila on that date becomes verifiable from credible public sources. The outcome is determined by official meteorological records or widely reported weather data for the specified location and date. Resolution occurs after the event window closes and the data is confirmed, ensuring all traders have equal access to the same factual basis for settlement.
Major weather pattern shifts, tropical storm or typhoon activity, and updated seasonal forecasts from meteorological agencies can all trigger significant repricing. Real-time atmospheric pressure changes, sea surface temperature anomalies, and monsoon intensity reports may shift trader expectations about June 30 conditions. Additionally, historical temperature records for Manila in late June and emerging climate data closer to the event date could influence market sentiment. Early-season heat waves or unusual cooling patterns in the weeks leading up to June 30 would likely prompt traders to reassess their positions.
