This market can not resolve until the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Celsius (eg, 9°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.

Prediction market odds and traditional meteorological forecasts often diverge because they measure different things. Weather analysts issue probabilistic forecasts based on atmospheric models and historical data, while this market aggregates trader beliefs into real-time odds. Traders incorporate analyst predictions, satellite imagery, seasonal patterns, and their own conviction into their bets. When professional forecasters and market participants align, odds tend to cluster; when they disagree, the market price may drift higher or lower, reflecting traders' confidence that official forecasts underestimate or overestimate the likelihood of specific temperature outcomes.
On Polymarket, traders set prices through an automated market maker that converts buy and sell orders into real-time odds. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Each outcome—such as whether the highest temperature will be exactly 31°C—is assigned a probability between 0 and 100 percent, and traders profit by correctly predicting which outcome occurs. The current odds reflect the latest trades; as new information arrives or sentiment shifts, prices adjust instantly. Liquidity and trading volume influence how quickly prices move, so markets with higher activity typically show tighter spreads and more stable pricing.
This market resolves around Jun 16, 2026, once the highest temperature recorded in Manila on June 16 is verifiable from credible public sources. The outcome is determined by comparing the actual peak temperature on that date against the specific threshold or range defined by each contract. Traders who correctly predicted the temperature band win their stake plus profit; those on the wrong side lose their investment. Resolution typically occurs within hours of the event, once official meteorological data is published and confirmed.
Major weather pattern shifts, updated seasonal forecasts, and real-time atmospheric data releases can all swing odds significantly. Tropical cyclones, monsoon intensity changes, or unexpected heat waves in the region would prompt traders to reassess their positions. As June 16 approaches, daily weather updates and short-range model forecasts become increasingly influential. Political or infrastructure events affecting urban heat island effects—such as power outages or industrial shutdowns—could also move prices. The closer to resolution, the more sensitive the market becomes to incremental forecast updates and actual early-morning temperature readings.
