The resolution source for this market will be information from Wunderground, specifically the highest temperature recorded for all times on this day for the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Station, available here: https://www.wunderground.com/history/daily/ph/manila/RPLL. To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the gear icon next to the search bar and switch the Temperature setting between °F and °C. This market can not resolve until the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Celsius (eg, 9°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.
Prediction market odds on Polymarket reflect real-money consensus from traders betting on Manila's temperature outcome. Traditional weather forecasts from meteorological agencies typically provide deterministic high-temperature predictions for June 10, while prediction markets aggregate probabilistic views across many participants. Market odds may diverge from official forecasts due to trader risk appetite, information asymmetries, and the inherent uncertainty in long-range weather prediction. Comparing the two reveals whether markets are pricing in more or less optimism about extreme heat than institutional forecasters.
The market resolves on Jun 10, 2026, after the highest temperature in Manila on June 10 has been recorded and verified. Resolution depends on official temperature data from a designated meteorological source, which will confirm which outcome bracket the actual high temperature fell into. Once the reference data is published and validated, the winning outcome is determined and traders' positions settle accordingly. The specific resolution criteria and data source are defined in the market's terms at launch.
Several factors could shift odds for Manila's June 10 high temperature. Seasonal weather pattern updates, El Niño or La Niña developments, and tropical cyclone forecasts in the Western Pacific can influence expectations. Real-time meteorological data releases, including atmospheric pressure systems and ocean temperatures, typically drive repricing as the event date nears. Historical temperature anomalies for early June in Manila and any unusual climate events in the region may also prompt traders to adjust their positions. As June 10 approaches, official weather forecasts will become more precise, likely triggering significant market movement.
