Frequently asked questions

On Polymarket, the Kuala Lumpur temperature market dashboard tracks real-time odds and trading activity for whether the highest temperature will reach a specific threshold on July 1. The interface displays current market prices, historical price movements, and recent trade volume, allowing traders to monitor how sentiment shifts as the event date approaches. This dashboard gives you a live window into how the prediction community is pricing the likelihood of different temperature outcomes for that day.

Prediction market odds reflect the aggregated beliefs of traders with real money at stake, often diverging from traditional weather forecasts or analyst estimates. While meteorologists rely on atmospheric models and historical data, this market prices in trader conviction and real-time information flow. The two approaches can differ significantly because markets incorporate broader uncertainty and incentivize participants to bet against consensus when they believe forecasters are wrong. Comparing the market's implied probability to published weather forecasts reveals where traders see value or risk.

This market resolves around Jul 1, 2026, once the highest temperature recorded in Kuala Lumpur for that day becomes verifiable from credible public sources. The outcome is determined by comparing actual weather data against the threshold specified in the market. Resolution typically occurs within hours or a day after the event, allowing traders to settle their positions based on the confirmed temperature reading.

Weather pattern shifts, updated seasonal forecasts, and real-time atmospheric data releases can all shift trader expectations before July 1. Major climate anomalies, monsoon activity changes, or unexpected heat waves in the region would likely move odds significantly. As the event date approaches, intraday weather updates and short-term forecasts become more influential. Trading volume and late-breaking news about regional weather systems can also trigger rapid repricing in the final hours before resolution.
