This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the highest temperature recorded at the Masroor Airbase Station in degrees Celsius on 29 Jun '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from Wunderground, specifically the highest temperature recorded for all times on this day for the Masroor Airbase Station, available here: https://www.wunderground.com/history/daily/pk/karachi/OPKC. To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the gear icon next to the search bar and switch the Temperature setting between °F and °C. This market can not resolve until the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Celsius (eg, 9°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.

Prediction market odds often diverge from traditional meteorological forecasts because they reflect real-money incentives and crowd wisdom rather than a single model's output. While weather agencies publish deterministic or probabilistic forecasts based on atmospheric science, this market aggregates the beliefs of traders who profit or lose based on accuracy. Comparing the implied probability here to official forecasts from Pakistan's meteorological department or international weather services can reveal where the crowd sees risk differently—whether due to model uncertainty, recent data shifts, or systematic biases in either approach.
On Polymarket, traders set the odds by buying and selling binary outcome shares; the current market price reflects the collective willingness to bet at that level. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Each outcome—such as whether the high will reach 31°C—has its own contract, and the price of each share (ranging from $0 to $1) directly translates to implied probability. As new information arrives, traders adjust their positions, moving the price up or down until supply and demand reach equilibrium.
This market resolves around Jun 29, 2026, once the highest temperature recorded in Karachi on June 29 is verifiable from credible public sources. The outcome is determined by comparing the actual observed high temperature against the threshold specified in each contract outcome. Traders' positions settle based on whether the real-world event matches the prediction, with winning shares redeemed at full value and losing shares expiring worthless.
Major weather pattern shifts—such as monsoon onset timing, heat-wave intensity, or upper-atmosphere pressure systems—can significantly move this market. Updated seasonal forecasts from meteorological agencies, recent temperature records from Karachi, and global climate indices like the Indian Ocean Dipole may prompt traders to reassess their bets. Additionally, any unusual atmospheric events or model consensus changes in the days leading up to June 29 could trigger sharp repricing as new information flows into the market.
